چکیده

A 14 year old girl with double outlet right ventricle, left isomerism, and complicated atrial anatomy had undergone corrective surgery with intra-atrial rerouting at 5 years of age. Cardiac catheterisation eight years after the surgery showed that she had two systemic venous baZe stenoses: between the hepatic vein and caval vein, and the caval vein and right atrium. Two Palmaz stents were successfully implanted percutaneously through a long sheath and a balloon catheter. The stenoses were relieved immediately and her symptoms quickly disappeared. Heart Transplantation in a Patient with Left Isomerism

We report the case of a 37-year-old man who suffered from biventricular failure due to left isomerism, inferior vena cava interruption with azygos vein continuation, bilateral superior vena cava, double outlet of right ventricle, complete atrioventricular septal defect, pulmonary stenosis, and isolated dextrocardia. Heart transplantation in patients with systemic venous anomalies often requires...

The X-mark signature of pulmonary veins in an infant’s heart

We present here the case of an infant with interesting pulmonary venous anatomy in which pulmonary veins drain into systemic veins via 2 separate obstructed vertical veins (VVs). The 2-month-old female patient presented with severe cyanosis and respiratory distress. An echocardiographic study revealed right atrial isomerism, complete atrioventricular septal defect, double outlet right ventricle...

Right ventricular outflow tract stenting in double outlet right ventricle with critical pulmonary stenosis and hypoplastic pulmonary arteries

Double outlet right ventricle (DORV) is a congenital heart disease in which the great arteries (aorta and main pulmonary artery) arise from the right ventricle (RV), with concomitant ventricular septal defect (VSD), usually non-restrictive. Double outlet right ventricle can be accompanied by other cardiovascular anomalies, such as ventricular hypoplasia, restrictive septal defects and various p...

Percutaneous right ventricle outflow tract stenting in a patient with trisomy 18 associated with double outlet right ventricle.

Trisomy 18, or Edwards syndrome, is the second most common chromosome anomaly after trisomy 21. Various types of congenital heart diseases are seen in the majority of trisomy 18 patients. Palliative treatment of right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT) stenosis includes options like balloon dilatation, stenting and surgery. Herein, we present a case with trisomy 18 and double outlet right ventric...

Inadvertent complication of the Senning procedure

A 34-year-old man with complete transposition of the great arteries (D-TGA) presented for the first time to our clinic. He previously underwent balloon atrial septostomy (Rashkind procedure) early after birth followed by a Senning procedure at the age of 2 months together with ligation of a patent ductus arteriosus. He has been asymptomatic since his surgery. Transthoracic echocardiogram was te...
